Wireframe

Initial Home page
Used the 2nd wireframe from the concept art. We were actually planning the page to be about the instructions and the credits page as well. This is to save time and to keep the art consistent for the page.

Colour Scheme
It used a yellowish/ brownish colour scheme. The main reason to use such a colour scheme is due to the fact that the male and female are using primary colours and it is to make it look child friendly and that it uses a triad colour harmony so that it can look equally balanced throughout the entire main menu .

Font used
The font used in this image is Cooper STD. I used this font as it looked rather friendly due to the curvy structure of the font.

 

Main Menu Iterations

Iteration 1

Rationale for change
Made the button much larger due to the fact that I felt that It has too much white space and it has too little clouds design In the picture.

Rationale for new font

The old font does not suit the art style of the main characters. Thus I used the font Orange Kid which is commercially free to use thus I had decided to use this font for the rest of the game to make the font consistent throughout the entire game

Iteration 3

Decided to change the cloud to blue as many still saw it as a little warm. and the buttons were made smaller to add more white space due to the fact that there were some the could see that i stretched the buttons and commented that i should not stretch as it would make it look rather weird.

Iteration 4

As the weeks lessened, the time to create the storyline decreased as well. On top of that there were several people that found it difficult to see that the location is a classroom. Thus I had decided to remove the cloud and replace it with a whiteboard. This is to mainly make them feel that the location is the classroom and I also drew a back view of the teacher to make it seem that he is teaching the class about the food items. On top of that I had also decided to remove the credits page due to time constraints and made the play button much larger to it more obvious to the player and to give more priority. The colour for the buttons and font is yellow as yellow is a attention catching colour and is not as aggressive as red.

Final Home page
Final iteration is when our team wanted the whiteboard to be visually appealing therefore I had asked the programmer to place the food items around the white board so that the people would see the food that is coming out.

Iteration 2
After looking at the game for a moment, and various feedback that I had received about how the yellow is overpowering and the image is too warm ,the I decided to change the back ground from the wooden (yellowish-brown) to stone (different shades of grey) to make the image much cooler. On top of that I also added a outline around the Food dreams logo and change the location of the boy and girl sleeping at home to sleeping at class due to the fact that the story has been changed to the teacher teaching the 2 people about food and they fell asleep into a dream world where there are

moving food.
